The AHA Legacy Society

“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”

Winston Churchill

Planned gifts create extraordinary opportunities to support Academy of Holy Angels

The AHA Legacy Society honors alumnae, parents, faculty, staff, retirees and friends who have named AHA as a beneficiary of a planned gift.

This may take the form of:

  • A bequest in a will
  • A life income arrangement (such as a charitable gift annuity)
  • A beneficiary of a retirement account or life insurance policy
  • Some other form of planned gift

The school might not receive the gift for many years to come. However, by making these intentions known, members provide AHA with the opportunity to acknowledge their commitment now and help to ensure that their gift will be used in accordance with their wishes.

The impact of your own planned gift, which qualifies you for membership in AHA Legacy Society, will last forever and impact generations of Holy Angels students.

How do I become a member?

Joining AHA Legacy Society is easy. Simply inform us in writing that you have included the school in your estate plans and provide us with one of the following pieces of documentation:

  • A completed, signed Letter of Intent Confirmation form.
  • A copy of the pertinent provisions in your will or trust.
  • A copy of the life insurance policy naming the school as beneficiary.
  • A letter from your attorney stating that you have included AHA in your estate plans.

Membership benefits

Membership involves no dues, obligations or solicitations, but it does allow us to thank you and recognize you for the plans you have made, and it may inspire generosity in others. Benefits of membership in the AHA Legacy Society also include invitations to special events, and a listing in our Annual Report and our annual Donor and Volunteer Reception program.

The most important benefit, however, you will receive from joining the AHA Legacy Society is the satisfaction derived from making a lasting contribution to our long-term prosperity.

LEGACY GIFTS BUILD ENDOWMENT

Legacy giving is the best way to build endowment and long-term resources for AHA. An endowment is a pool of money that is set aside and invested.  AHA can draw from the earnings to support current programs, but the original pool remains in place and grows over time.  So this source of support can continue – forever.

When my sisters and I went to AHA, the Sisters of St. Joseph made sure we could attend even during challenging times. Now my grandchildren go to AHA, and I can see that they are thriving. My husband and I have been fortunate in our lives together, and we want to make sure that other children can receive the same wonderful Catholic education that my sisters, my grandchildren, and I did. We hope you will join us in ensuring the future of AHA.
